
Death of youth due to drug overdose
Patiala, March 10 - The growing drug addiction in Punjab claimed the life of 22-year-old Krishna from Bajwa Colony here last night. In this matter, the Urban Estate Police Station has registered a case against the father-son of Bajwa Colony on the complaint of the deceased's mother. Krishna's mother Uma has alleged that after making her son consume drugs, the accused youth Rishu ran away from the spot with his father and the son died when he did not reach the hospital on time.

According to the police file, the family has given a statement to the police that Krishna was addicted to drugs. Late on Friday evening, Krishna and Rishu started taking the drug together. It is said that when Krishna fainted due to overdose, Rishu called his father and fled the scene. Rishu's father also did not help Krishna and did not tell his family. When the bystanders saw Krishna lying unconscious, they rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The investigating officer of the case, ASI Kuldeep Singh, said that on the basis of Uma's statements, a case has been registered against Rishu and her father Darshan Singh, but they have not been arrested yet.
