Patiala, November 8 - Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni said that 11 lakh 22 thousand 252 metric tons of paddy has arrived in the markets of the district so far and 11 lakh 21 thousand 307 metric tons of paddy has been purchased so far. The Deputy Commissioner said that 479879 metric tons of paddy has been purchased from Pangrain, 282452 metric tons from Markfed, 217953 metric tons from Pansp, 140858 from Punjab State Warehouse Corporation and 165 metric tons from traders. He said that till now, 2331.90 crore rupees have been paid to the farmers.
He said that lifting of the purchased paddy is also being done and about 92 percent of the total purchased paddy has been lifted.
