In the jails of Patiala district, sisters decorated the wrists of their brothers by tying Rakhi

Patiala, August 19 – Under the guidelines of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann and under the leadership of ADGP (Prisons) Punjab Arun Pal Singh, the auspicious festival of Rakhi was celebrated at Central Jail Patiala as well as New District Jail Nabha and Open Jail Nabha. Superintendent of Central Jail Patiala Manjit Singh Sidhu said that according to the jail rules, special arrangements were made for the prisoners to have rakhi tied by their sisters.

Superintendent of Central Jail Patiala Manjit Singh Sidhu said that according to the jail rules, special arrangements were made for the prisoners to have rakhi tied by their sisters.
He said that facilities were provided for prisoners to meet their brothers and sisters in Jail Deodhi (Administrative Block) in a positive environment. He said that such festivals usher in true reformation among the inmates as well as give families an opportunity to meet their loved ones.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of New Jail Nabha Ramandeep Singh Bhangu said that according to the guidelines of Arun Pal Singh, the prisoners were given special exemption to celebrate the festival of Rakhi from the morning.
