Patiala, July 30 - Former minister and senior Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia refused to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Patiala for the third time today. On July 20, Majithia was also called for investigation but he refused to appear before the SIT citing the hearing in the Supreme Court.
A new reply sent by Majithia to "SIT" states that he has an appearance in a case in Chandigarh. in which charges are to be brought. In this case, the court has asked everyone to appear. Along with this, in the reply sent on July 20, Majithia had said that he has a hearing in the Supreme Court on July 23 regarding the regular bail. And they have to prepare to present their case in the Supreme Court for which they are in New Delhi. So their date should be kept after July 23. After which summons were again sent by SIT on July 30.
At the same time, Bikram Majithia has raised questions on the Special Investigation Team. At Amritsar, he had alleged that the SIT is a puppet of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Home ministry is held by Bhagwant Maan and the responsibility of transfers of police officers is also with Bhagwant Maan. Their investigation started from the DGP level and now the investigation has reached the inspector level. Last month, when the SIT had issued a notice to Bikram Singh Majithia, he had approached the High Court regarding this matter and told the court that he was being harassed by repeatedly sending summons.
The police registered this case against Majithia 3 years ago on 20 December 2021 during the Congress government. After this he also had to go to jail. He was granted bail on 10 August 2022 after spending 5 months in jail. Majithia has alleged that in the case in which he is in jail, no charge sheet has been filed yet and no recovery has been made from him in this case.
