
Voting facility from home for voters above 85 plus and more than 40 percent disabled
Una, May 10:- District Election Officer Jatin Lal has instructed the polling teams deployed to complete the voting process of voters who choose to vote from home, to ensure complete adherence to the Election Commission's protocol during voting. He was presiding over the training workshop organized at DRDA auditorium for mobile polling teams today on Friday.

After the meeting, the District Election Officer said that this time the Election Commission has made arrangements for the elderly above 85 years of age and voters with more than 40 percent disability to cast their vote from home through postal ballot. Special teams of the administration will visit the homes of voters who have opted to vote from home and complete the voting process with complete confidentiality. For this, 5-5 mobile polling teams have been formed in every assembly constituency in the district, thus a total of 25 mobile teams have been formed in the district. In which there will be 4 polling personnel in each team. These include a polling officer, a micro observer, a security personnel and a videographer.
Jatin Lal said that the administration is committed to ensuring easy voting for the voters. By organizing training workshops for polling officers and micro observers, they have been given information about the entire process of voting at home. Also informed about the protocols and guidelines of the Election Commission.
*The process of voting from home will start from May 21*
He said that polling teams will leave for the district from May 21 to complete the voting process from home.
They will vote through postal ballot in complete secrecy and hand it over to the concerned election officer.
He said that eligible people can submit the option form of voting from home to the concerned election officer till May 12.
He said that if any voter who has opted for voting at home wants to change his option and instead of voting at home, wants to come to the polling station and cast his vote, then he will have to submit an affidavit to this effect to the election officer.
On this occasion, he also reiterated his unwavering commitment to conduct free, fair, peaceful, accessible, inclusive and inducement-free voting in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission. He asked all the election workers to work in accordance with this commitment and fulfill their responsibilities sincerely.
On this occasion, Tehsildar Suman Kapoor, Naib Tehsildar Ajay Sharma and other officers of the Election Department and polling officers and micro observers of mobile polling teams were present.
