
Chandigarh administration gave a shock to those who got the job of clerk

On this occasion, UT Administrator Banwari Lal Purohit gave appointment letters to 75 youths in the second Job Fair-2023 organized at UT Secretariat, in which 46 clerks were given jobs in Chandigarh Housing Board and 29 junior auditors were given jobs in local audit department.

youth were very happy after receiving the appointment letter from the organizers, but after the program, as soon as the file of
appointment letter for the post of clerk was opened, the happiness of many youth disappeared. The candidates said that when the
UT administration issued the application for the clerk in 2022, at that time information was given to pay 3200 grade pay, but now
this grade pay has been decreased to 1900 in the appointment letter. Many of the job seekers are already permanently employed
in other states and institutions. The dream of working in a smart city can now be dimmed by many due to low salaries. In such a
situation, a situation of confusion has arisen in front of many regarding whether to join the job on low salary or not.
More than 300 common cadre clerks were recruited in UT administration in 2020. The Chandigarh administration has given a
demand letter to the officials of the UT administration against increasing the pay grade of the old clerks to 1900 after the
implementation of the central scale. No action was taken by the UT administration in this matter. Around a hundred clerks
recruited under Common Cadre have quit their jobs due to low grade pay in the last one year. A notification has been issued for
