Patiala, May 4 - A drug addict who was tampering with parked vehicles in Leela Bhawan market of Patiala was beaten up by people. When someone shouted that the drug addict was trying to steal by breaking the windows of the vehicles, people gathered and beat him up.
The police personnel also reached the spot, who tried to control the youth but he started fighting with the police, after which the police and other people picked him up by the hair and legs, put him in a car and took him to the hospital. Ranjit Singh, Head of Police Chowki Model Town, said that the matter is being investigated. By the time the police arrived, the youth was intoxicated and behaving like a mental patient. After the treatment in the hospital, the whole matter will be revealed when the condition of the young man stabilizes.
