Hoshiarpur - Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, while reviewing the purchase of wheat at Dana Mandi Hoshiarpur, said that the purchase of wheat in the mandis of the district has started smoothly and till last evening, 693 metric tons of wheat have arrived in the mandis of the district. Out of this, 130 metric tons of wheat has been purchased.
Hoshiarpur - Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, while reviewing the purchase of wheat at Dana Mandi Hoshiarpur, said that the purchase of wheat in the mandis of the district has started smoothly and till last evening, 693 metric tons of wheat have arrived in the mandis of the district. Out of this, 130 metric tons of wheat has been purchased. He said that immediate payment is being made for the crops sold by the farmers to the procurement agencies in the markets. He said that there are 66 markets in the district. Apart from this, 8 temporary yard markets have also been set up. In this way, wheat is being purchased in 74 markets in the district. Meanwhile, Food and Civil Supplies Controller Madhu was also present with him.
The Deputy Commissioner said that 3,25,461 metric tons of wheat is expected to be purchased in the markets this year. He said that one grain of farmers' crops will be bought in the markets. He said that all the arrangements have been made by the district administration for the purchase of wheat in the mandis, so that the farmers do not have to face any kind of trouble while selling the crops in the mandis. He said that the staff has been posted in all the markets of the district. He said that water, lights, fans, shade, generator sets and toilets have been arranged in all the markets. He said that the MSP of wheat this year has been fixed at Rs 2275 per quintal. He appealed to the farmers to bring the crops to the markets after drying them completely, so that they do not face any problem in marketing the crops. He instructed the officials and procurement agencies that farmers should not face any kind of problem.
