Therefore, a decision should be taken immediately to increase the limit of Mohali Municipal Corporation and its notification should be issued.
He said that the residents of these villages have won the Aam Aadmi Party government by casting a large number of votes and the residents of these villages are also entitled to city-like facilities. He said that this will increase the income of Mohali Municipal Corporation and the development work of these villages will also be able to be done like Mohali city.
The Deputy Mayor said that the Mohali Municipal Corporation had completed the entire process and made the maps as per the demand made by the local government and sent them to the local government department. He said that the local government department had sought objections from the people of Mohali in this regard and this process was also completed and sent to the government.
He said that after this, the assembly elections were held and after the change of government, this file was put in cold storage. Neither the new demarcation was implemented nor it was revoked. They demanded that the government should take an immediate decision in this regard and issue the notification for the increase in the delimitation of the Mohali Municipal Corporation.
