The main speaker of this webinar, Colonel Jayveer Singh and his team from the Indian Army Selection Center Jalandhar Cantt, gave complete information about the recruitment of the Indian Army under the Agniveer scheme. Around 6 thousand candidates from total 38 institutes of the district participated in this webinar through online medium. Giving information in this regard, Colonel Javeer Singh said that the candidates included in this webinar will be selected to serve the Indian Army for a period of four years. This four-year period of active service provides much-needed time to the firemen to overcome obstacles related to the lifestyle of the services and enable them to decide on the armed forces as a permanent career option. It will inculcate leadership qualities of patriotism, tenacity, discipline, maturity, courage, friendliness, sense of order and time management within the Agnivirs during the short tenure of recruitment. Speaking to all the students about the basic educational qualification required for the recruitment, candidates with minimum twelfth pass in any stream and ITI/diploma holder under technical entry and age limits between seventeen and half to 21 years can apply for this recruitment.
He said that interested eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the website https://www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. After applying online, the selection process of the candidates will be through three phases. In phase-1, online e-examination will be conducted by C-DAC. Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will be conducted in phase-2 of eligible candidates who pass this exam. Eligible candidates who pass this physical test will undergo medical fitness test in phase-3. After this final phase, eligible candidates will be selected to serve in the Indian Army for a period of four years. Apart from this, Engineer Sandeep Kumar, PCS (A) District Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Officer explained to the students about the importance of Employment Bureau, the facilities provided through Employment Bureau such as career counseling for children's future career, placement Detailed information was given about the job initiatives conducted by the cell, free internet facility provided by the employment bureau, information about self-employment schemes, short-term technical courses. And encouraged all the students to pursue their career in the Indian Army.
