Under the new law, there will be a five-year jail term in case of simple accidents, while in cases of hit-and-run accidents, drivers can face up to 10 years in jail and a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh. The new law is very dangerous for drivers and transporters.

He said that the government should withdraw this new law immediately. In addition to those transporters, taxi drivers, bus drivers, truck drivers, all the vehicle owners have also been urged to join this protest and said that the owners of private vehicles also come under the ambit of this law.
