
Toughened glass industry established in Basal with the cooperation of state government, about 40 people got employment

Established at a cost of about Rs 15 crore in the name of Devbhoomi Glass Private Limited, this industry employs about 40 employees, out of which 80 percent of the employees are basically Himachalis. Tanveer Thakur, one of the young entrepreneurs, said that earlier he used to work as a civil engineer in the private sector. Then one day he thought of doing something, through which he could create employment opportunities for some other people also. After this, he along with his two young entrepreneur friends Rahul Saini and Sukhbinder Singh decided to establish a production unit of toughened glass in village Basal of Una district. Tanveer Thakur told that for setting up an industrial unit, he was given a grant amount of about Rs 7 lakh 50 thousand by the state government on the 1000 square meter industrial plot given by the Industries Department. He told that only 2 months have passed since production started in the industry and during this period the production is better as expected.
Giving more information regarding Devbhoomi Glass Private Limited, Anshul Dhiman, Joint Director of District Industries Center Una, said that a unit for the production of toughened glass has been established by three young entrepreneurs of the district in Basal industrial area of ??the Industries Department, in which modern technology is used. Machinery and equipment have been installed. He told that for the establishment of this unit, an industrial plot of about 1000 square meters has been given by the Industries Department on 50 percent subsidy, in which he has saved about seven and a half lakh rupees. Apart from this, electricity at concessional rates from the state government, refund of 80 percent of the goods and services tax paid by the unit to the government along with other incentives are also provided from time to time by the Industries Department to Devbhoomi Glass Private Limited. Have been. He informed that production has started in this unit and very good quality toughened glass is being manufactured here. Anshul Dhiman area has called upon the educated and employed youth to come forward to establish their own industry through the Industries Department and along with becoming self-reliant, they should also become a medium of employment generation for other people, for which the department has Assistance is also being provided through various types of schemes.
Local Lalsinghi resident Naresh Kumar, Talwara resident Vivek Sharma and Pradeep Rana resident Pradeep Rana, working in the industry, happily informed that with the opening of this industry, many Himachalis like them have got employment near their homes and within the state.
Naresh Kumar, resident of Lalsingi, told that he has done diploma in electrical engineering and before that he used to work in an industry in Delhi. While working in Delhi, the salary was less, most of which was spent on living there and commuting home. Apart from this, along with financial constraints, there was also a shortage of time because it took two days to travel back and forth from Delhi to home. He said that due to the efforts of the local youth and the cooperation of the state government, he has got employment with good salary near home, for which he thanks the state government and the industries department.
Talwara resident Vivek Sharma told that he has been working in Galas Industries for the last 13 years. Before this he used to work in Jalandhar. He told that he got employment in Devbhoomi Glass Pvt. Ltd. about two months ago and he is very happy to get private employment near home. For this he is grateful to the state government.
Pradeep Rana, a resident of Pragpur in Kangra district, told that before working in Devbhoomi Glass Private Limited, he used to work in a private organization in Jalandhar where he got a monthly salary of Rs 17 thousand. He told that in this new employment he is getting a salary of Rs 20 thousand per month and his expenses here are also less as compared to Jalandhar.
