Una, January 5 - Deputy Commissioner Una Raghav Sharma inaugurated the newly constructed non-residential training center building at Pandoga at a cost of about Rs four lakh. On this occasion, he took stock of the teaching and other related arrangements in the center and gave necessary guidelines to the officials of the governing voluntary organization Education Reform Committee.

Deputy Commissioner Una informed that at present 36 non-residential training centers are being run by the District Administration Una with the aim of providing education to the children of migrant laborers living in slums. About 1,800 children of different age groups are receiving education in these centers run with the help of voluntary organizations. Highly qualified teachers are providing education in all the centers and mid-day meal is also being provided to all the children. He instructed the officials of the Education Reform Committee to pay special attention to the quality of education in the centers as well as cleanliness in these institutions so that the best education can be provided to these children in a clean and healthy environment. Deputy Commissioner Una appreciated the efforts of the Education Reform Committee for contributing to the education of migrant children and extended best wishes for the future.
On this occasion, General Secretary of the voluntary organization Education Reform Committee, Sucha Singh Kang said that his organization is running 10 non-residential training centers in the area with the help of the district administration, in which the expenses of electricity, water, furniture and four walls etc. are covered by the organization. being done. He told that in these centres, children of different age groups are given admission in level one, two and three according to their age and ability and teaching is done accordingly. He said that with the help of voluntary organizations, Una district administration is doing excellent work in this direction and out of approximately 3600 children taking education in this manner across the state, approximately 1800 children are being provided education in Una district. He said that apart from the district administration, Una and voluntary organizations, there is a special contribution in the operation of these centers by Ranjit Singh Rana, a well-known social worker of the area and President of the District Congress Committee, under whose continuous support and guidance, this effort is being made to awaken the spirit of education among the migrant children. Pious work is being done. Ranjit Singh Rana, Sucha Singh Kang and Gulwinder Goldy also expressed their views in the programme. In the programme, the children studying at the center also presented a colorful cultural program including a welcome song.
On this occasion, District Congress Committee President Ranjit Singh Rana, General Secretary of Education Reform Committee Sucha Singh Kang, Gram Panchayat President Gulwinder Singh Goldy, Jagat Ram Shastri, Awadhesh Yadav, KJ Bhardwaj, Suraj Pathak and Ved Prakash were also present.
