Patiala, August 30- Additional Deputy Commissioner Madam Kanchan held a meeting with officials of the departments like stubble utilizing industry, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Punjab Pollution Control Board, representatives of co-heads, operative societies etc. for proper disposal of stubble produced during the current season in Patiala district.
While talking to the representatives of the stubble utilizing industry regarding the strategy made for stubble collection during the season, Madam Kanchan said that the plan prepared by the industry for taking the stubble should be shared with the district administration so that stubble management can be done more smoothly in the district. She said that the industry which has not made its plan yet should also make a plan so that the remaining work can be completed on time.
She asked the officials of the Agriculture Department to run a campaign to give information to the farmers about machines like baler, super seeder and surface seeder and to make them aware about the benefits to the environment, farmers and land. On this occasion, Chief Agriculture Officer Jaswinder Singh said that the department is continuously organizing camps in villages so that farmers can be made aware about new machinery and the harm caused by burning of stubble.
