Patwari arrested for taking bribe of ten thousand rupees in exchange of land transfer

Patiala, August 30 - During the anti-corruption campaign in the state, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Revenue Patwari Sohan Gir, Revenue Halka Amam Nagar, Village Karhali District Patiala red-handed for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of State Vigilance Bureau said that the said Patwari has been arrested on the basis of the complaint of Gurdev Singh resident of Amam Nagar,

Patiala, August 30 - During the anti-corruption campaign in the state, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Revenue Patwari Sohan Gir, Revenue Halka Amam Nagar, Village Karhali District Patiala red-handed for accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of State Vigilance Bureau said that the said Patwari has been arrested on the basis of the complaint of Gurdev Singh resident of Amam Nagar, village Karhali, district Patiala. He further said that the complainant has approached the Vigilance Bureau and alleged that the said Patwari demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 in exchange for the transfer of his grandfather's land in his name.
The spokesperson further said that after preliminary investigation of the allegations made in the complaint, the Bureau team laid a trap and arrested the said Patwari red-handed by accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant in the presence of two government witnesses.
He further informed that a case has been registered against the said Patwari under the Prevention of Corruption Act at the Vigilance Bureau Police Station Patiala Range. He will be produced in court tomorrow. Further investigation of the matter is ongoing.
