Patiala, November 14 - Avtar Singh "Ghairat" was unabashed, fair and honest editor, journalist and official. He had always advocated human rights by guarding people's interests. He will act as a guide for new journalists. These views were expressed by Baba Bohar of PEPSU Journalism and the representatives of different sections of the society paying tributes on the occasion of the last prayers of the former Director of Public Relations Avtar Singh Ganat of the Electricity Board. Among those who paid tributes were Virinder Singh Walia Editor Punjabi Jagran, Jagjit Singh Dardi Chairman Charddikala Time TV, Baba Nachhatar Singh Gurdwara Kali Kambli Wale, Tejinderpal Singh Sandhu Former Chairman Subordinate Services Selection Board, Press Club Patiala President Navdeep Dhingra, Harjinderpal Singh Walia Chairman Global Foundation, Narpal Singh Shergill International Correspondent, Charanjit Singh Grover President Punjabi Vikas Manch, Praminder Pal Kaur Director "Kalakriti", Pran Sabharwal Famous Painter, Ujagar Singh and Kuljit Singh both former District Public Relations Officer, Bhupinder Singh Batra Former Editor Journalism Department Punjabi University, Jawahar Bhushan, Satindramohan Singh and Paramjit Singh Parwana, three journalists, public relations, excise and taxation, language and sanitation departments officials and employees were involved. Tarlochan Singh Former Member Rajya Sabha and Chairman Minority Commission Government of India sent a condolence message through Charanjit Singh Grover. He praised Avtar Singh for his contribution to journalism. Everyone was thanked by the family. Apart from this, a large number of journalists, editors, doctors, lawyers, government officials and employees and social workers from all sections of the society were present.
