SAS Nagar, November 6-Punjab Safai Mazdoor Federation District Mohali has demanded that the government should parmanent the sanitation workers who have been working continuously for three years.
In the meeting held at the Park of Phase 9 of the District Unit of the Federation under the chairmanship of the State Senior Vice President of the Federation Mohan Singh, the regulation policy of the Punjab government which was working continuously for 10 years was condemned and demanded to work continuously for three years. Sanitation workers, sewermen should be parmanent.
Federation leaders State General Secretary Pawan Godyal, Mohali President Sobha Ram, Senior Vice President Gurpreet Singh, Vice President Rajan Chawria, Joint Secretary Anil Kumar and Manikandan said that for the last 1 year, the corporation officials have been repeatedly requested in writing. The letter has been given but no concrete action has been taken by the authorities.
The leaders said that there is a need for at least 1300 cleaners at Municipal Corporation Mohali, but despite repeated requests from the organization, the corporation is not recruiting and the work of 1300 cleaners is being taken from 500 cleaners. is
On this occasion, it was demanded that the cleaning workers of Mohali are not being paid the same salary as the DC rate of Chandigarh and are being treated like bonded labourers. He said that the cleaners working under the contract given for the cleaning of A and B roads are not being given the full DC rate and neither are they being given pitch, oil, soap at the right time.
The leaders said that apart from this, there are other demands which have been pending for a long time, due to which there is increasing anger among the sanitation workers. He said that the organization has taken a decision to stop cleaning the city from November 8 and go on strike and the municipal corporation will be responsible for the problems caused to the residents of the city due to the strike.
