Jalandhar: Six members of the house were burnt in the fire that broke out after the explosion at the house of BJP leader Yaspal Ghai in Avtar Nagar late last night. was admitted to the hospital, who died of his injuries on Monday morning. After the police conducted the post-mortem of all the deceased, the bodies were handed over to the heirs, who performed the last rites of all at the same time on Monday evening.
ADCP Aditya Kumar said that the forensic team is engaged in the investigation of the matter after the accident that took place in street number 12 of Avtar Nagar last night. He said that neither the cylinder has burst nor the gas has leaked from the gas cylinder in BJP leader Yashpal's house. The investigation revealed that the compressor of the refrigerator exploded and started a fire, in which six people who were watching the match at home were trapped. When people took them to the hospital in a burnt condition, Yashpal Ghai, Ruchi, Mansi, Diya and Akshay died there, while the condition of Yashpal's son Inderpal was critical and he was admitted to the hospital.
