Garhshankar October 10 - The Punjab government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has made adequate arrangements for procurement of paddy in 1854 mandis of the state to ensure smooth procurement, simultaneous lifting and procurement, Payment for the purchase of paddy can be made within 24 hours.

Garhshankar October 10 - The Punjab government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has made adequate arrangements for procurement of paddy in 1854 mandis of the state to ensure smooth procurement, simultaneous lifting and procurement, Payment for the purchase of paddy can be made within 24 hours. And like the sons and daughters of farmers, each grain of the crop is being bought. This was revealed by Punjab Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Lal Chand Kataruchak while talking to the media on the occasion of reviewing arrangements for the purchase of paddy at Anaj Mandi Garhshankar and Sela Khurd along with Deputy Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Jai Krishan Singh Rowdy. He said that so far 9 lakh 77 thousand metric tons of paddy has arrived in the markets of Punjab and 9 lakh 17 thousand metric tons of paddy has been purchased and 1052 crore rupees have been paid to the farmers. He said that the government has CCL of more than 37 thousand crore rupees. There is also provision of necessary bardanas in the markets. He said that the two seasons of paddy and wheat in a year contribute significantly in boosting the economy of Punjab. He said that during previous governments, farmers had to spend nights in markets to sell their crops even during important festivals like Diwali and Dussehra, but we will not allow farmers to spend nights in markets. He said that complete arrangements have been made to check the moisture content of the crop coming for sale in the markets. The cabinet minister said that the government has also installed inter-state checkpoints to prevent the crop coming from outside states to come inside Punjab for sale. He appealed to the farmers of the state that the crop should be brought to the markets after being completely dried and instead of setting the stubble on fire, priority should be given to its proper management. He said that no one will be allowed to face any difficulty during the entire procurement process. On this occasion, he also interacted with the farmers, farmers and laborers present.
On this occasion, SDM Garhshankar Preet Inder Singh Bains, District Food and Supply Controller Madam Madhu, District Market Officer Sahil Kaile and other officials related to procurement were present.
