Mandi Gobindgarh, April 30 - The two-day youth fair of Desh Bhagat University (DBU) began today, enthralling the audience with various cultural, artistic and intellectual activities. The fair showcased the exceptional talent and creativity of the university students. DBU Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh was the chief guest in the fair while DBU Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, DBU President Dr. Sandeep Singh attended as special guests. Dr. Abhijit Joshi, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Harsh Sadavarthy, Vice President, Dr. Varinder Singh, Advisor to the Chancellor and Prof. Sudeep Mukherjee, Registrar, Surjit Kaur Patheja, Sangamitra and other prominent DBU officials were also present.

Dr. Abhijit Joshi, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Harsh Sadavarthy, Vice President, Dr. Varinder Singh, Advisor to the Chancellor and Prof. Sudeep Mukherjee, Registrar, Surjit Kaur Patheja, Sangamitra and other prominent DBU officials were also present. On this occasion, Dr. Zora Singh in her inaugural address emphasized the importance of such youth centric events to nurture talent, encourage creativity and promote cultural exchange among students. The Yuvak Mela began with soulful renditions of devotional music including Shabad Gayan, Ganesh Vandana and Saraswati Vandana, which set a spiritually uplifting tone for the entire event.
The youth fair offered a wide range of activities that catered to different interests and talents. These included classical solo and role play performances, Bihu dance, stand-up comedy acts, group dances depicting diverse cultures, vocal and instrumental music, folk songs, collage displays like poster making, rangoli and collage making, intellectual competitions. Allocation and quiz as well as hands-on workshops like Phulkari making, Mehndi competitions were conducted. The highlight of the Yuvak Mela was the spectacular performance of popular Punjabi singer Jenny Johal, whose presence filled the fair with enthusiasm and energy. Students danced well on Jenny Johal's songs. Vidyarthi Inam and Jishant Sharma played the best role of the stage secretary.
