Following a recent complaint, Deputy Director (Administration) Pankaj Rai reported that swift action was taken to remove the staff involved, and an inquiry is underway. Legal action will follow if the staff is found guilty. PGIMER is also launching a helpline for reporting unethical practices, such as soliciting money from patients. This helpline will be closely monitored to ensure rapid responses to complaints.
To promote accountability, staff members will be required to wear uniforms and display identification cards. Additionally, a flying squad will conduct surprise inspections to enforce these regulations. Unauthorized vendors are now prohibited from entering patient care areas to maintain a safe environment.
To manage patient flow better, PGIMER has introduced staggered OPD appointments, reducing crowding and improving patient experience. The institute is also enhancing its online registration system, allowing patients to register via a mobile app or website, streamlining the process, and reducing wait times.
