Una, July 6:- Secretary Health and Family Welfare Department M Sudha Devi said that Wings Project will be run on pilot basis in Una district. Under this project, special nutritious food will be given to potential pregnant women and infants and children up to two years of age and will also be monitored.
Una, July 6:- Secretary Health and Family Welfare Department M Sudha Devi said that Wings Project will be run on pilot basis in Una district. Under this project, special nutritious food will be given to potential pregnant women and infants and children up to two years of age and will also be monitored. M Sudha Devi was speaking in a meeting held today in Zila Parishad Hall Una regarding the implementation of Wings Project. During this, Secretary Social Justice and Empowerment Department Ashish Singhmar, Deputy Commissioner Una Jatin Lal, Director Health and Family Welfare Dr. Gopal Beri were also specially present.
M Sudha Devi said that Himachal Pradesh has received the WINGS (Women and infant Integrated Interventions in Growth Study) project first in the whole country and it is being implemented on a pilot basis in Una district in the state. She said that under this project, in the coming time, the nutrition of potential pregnant women as well as infants and children up to the age of two years will be monitored at the village level. Along with this, special nutritious diet will also be provided to both these groups so that positive changes can be brought in their health.
He said that Anganwadi and ASHA workers will play an important role in the implementation of this project at the rural level, through which not only the target population will be identified, but the target of the project will also be achieved. He issued necessary guidelines to all the concerned departmental officers for the successful implementation of this project. He also expressed hope that Una district will be successful in achieving the targeted objectives of this project.
Anganwadi and Asha workers along with officials of Health and Women and Child Development Department were also present in the meeting.
M Sudha Devi visited the regional hospital and inspected the arrangements
After this, the Secretary Health and Family Welfare also visited the Regional Hospital Una and closely inspected the various arrangements of the hospital and gave proper guidelines to the concerned officials. Apart from this, he also got information about the Mother-Child Care Unit in the District Hospital and issued proper guidelines to the officials in this regard.
During this, CMO Una Dr. Sanjeev Verma and other officers of the department were also present.
