 On this occasion, Dr. Balbir Singh said that the purpose of his visit is to ensure the provision of quality health facilities to the common people of the district by strengthening the health infrastructure and health facilities. No stone will be left unturned to provide better health facilities to the common people. He also said that the process of filling up the vacant posts of medical officers and para-medical staff in government hospitals is going on and it is hoped that this process will be completed in the next two months. Dr. Balbir Singh while expressing satisfaction on the functioning of the district hospital in all respects said that the Punjab government is fully committed to provide world class health facilities to the common people and appropriate steps are being taken in this direction on a priority basis. He said that in the near future every government health institution will be equipped with all necessary facilities. He saw the arrangements of health facilities provided in different departments of the district hospital and also interacted with the patients.
 After this, Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, Civil Surgeon Dr. Balwinder Kumar Damana and other senior health officials to get detailed information about the health facilities in the district and gave necessary guidelines. On this occasion, he emphasized on the need to take appropriate steps to prevent vector borne and water borne diseases. He said that awareness, survey activities and treatment management should be strengthened to prevent the spread of vector borne diseases. He said that the number of dengue cases was highest in Hoshiarpur last year So this time more attention is needed here. He directed that anti-dengue activities should be implemented effectively in hot spot areas. He said that in addition to ensuring the participation of the society for the prevention of dengue, a campaign should be launched against diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya by establishing coordination committees at all levels with the support of partner departments of the health department. He said that the War on Dengue campaign should be intensified every Friday and the involvement of ASH workers to ANMs, Multipurpose Health Workers, Community Health Officers should be ensured in this, so that this disease can be eradicated by spreading awareness among the common people. It should be stopped before lifting. After this, the Health Minister visited the de-addiction center at the Civil Hospital and the rehabilitation center at New Fatehgarh. He said that the rehabilitation center of Hoshiarpur is the best rehabilitation center and all kinds of facilities are available here. He said that teaching of yoga exercises should be ensured for the rehabilitation and recovery of drug addicts.
