Patiala, June 13 - All the journalists of Patiala have formed a unique brotherhood and acted as a shield for the family of senior journalist Avinash Kamboj who died in an accident. In this initiative of the journalists, MLA from Sanour Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and councilor Aarti wife of Rakesh Lucky of B Tank area of ??Patiala have also raised slogans in favor of the family.

In this initiative of the journalists, MLA from Sanour Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and councilor Aarti wife of Rakesh Lucky of B Tank area of ??Patiala have also raised slogans in favor of the family.
Chairman of Patiala Media Club Sarabjit Singh Bhanghu and President Navdeep Dhingra, Chief Director Baljinder Sharma, senior journalist Gurpreet Singh Chattha, President of Electronic Media Welfare Club Anurag Sharma, Parmeet Singh, Blinder Binny and others said that ever since the death of Patiala journalist Avinash Kamboj, everyone felt that by the time the government comes forward to hold the hand of the deceased journalist, it will be too late. Therefore, everyone contributed according to their capacity and collected a financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh for the family from the journalist community of Patiala. These efforts got a big boost when the area's councilor Aarti wife of Rakesh Lucky also contributed one lakh rupees and MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra contributed 50 thousand rupees in cash on this occasion.
He said that with this amount we have bought ration for two months for the betterment of the family, while a bank FD of one lakh rupees each is being done in the name of the three sons of the late journalist. At the same time, 50 thousand rupees in cash has been deposited in the account of his wife. He thanked all the journalists who contributed and urged them to maintain unity in the same way in future. Meanwhile, MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra will meet Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and seek all possible help from the government for the welfare of the media.
It is worth mentioning that recently, ANI journalist Avinash Kamboj, working in Patiala, the fourth pillar of democracy, died in an accident, due to which the family members were struggling with financial crisis, where the entire journalist community is uniting and helping the family. At the same time, MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra assured to provide financial help to the family and bring the difficulties faced by the journalists to the notice of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.
He said that journalists, whether from print media or electronic media, play an important role in the society and remain on duty round the clock.
