
A tipper driver crushed a 16-year-old player at high speed
Garhshankar, June 13 - A 16-year-old boy died in a tragic road accident on Sri Anandpur Sahib Road in Garhshankar this morning when he was on his way from home to the ground to practice football.

The deceased Ankit son of Suresh Kumar resident of Mohalla Ambedkar Nagar who was a 10th class student was the eldest son of the family, his father had died a few months back.
Ankit was going to take football coaching at Swakhta Ground by cycling from home as usual when a tipper loaded with mining material which was following him on the main road ran over him at a high speed. Ankit's body was cut into two parts and he died on the spot.
According to the statements given to the police by Ankit's relative Juala Prasad son of Matewar resident of Raebareli presently resident of Ambedkar Nagar Mohalla Garhshankar, Garhshankar police have registered FIR No. 94 under sections 304A, 427, 279 against tipper owner Manala Fatela son of Prem Lal resident of Travaini Camp Mubarakpur S.A. A case has been registered against the truck driver Karamjit son of Subeg Singh Manewala Lopik Chugahan Amritsar of S Nagar Mohali and the tipper driver Karamjit son of Subeg Singh Manewala Lopik Chugahan Amritsar.
The victims had to block the Chandigarh Hoshiarpur road in front of Garhshankar police station for about two hours to get justice from the police. During the protest, Advocate Pankaj Kirpal President Bar Association Garhshankar, Pranav Kirpal, Comrade Gurnek Singh Bhajjal, Dr. Avtar Singh, Kirpal Ram Pala Councilor and others reached there and openly raised slogans against the Punjab government and against illegal mining.
