
Mega mock drill on disaster management on 14th
Una, June 13 - If you see ambulance sirens, alarm bells ringing, administrative vehicles blowing horns on June 14 to alert people about floods, landslides, gas leaks, then do not panic. Remember, this is not a real disaster but a mock drill. But in view of the upcoming monsoon season, there are preparations to conduct this mock exercise very seriously in Una district.

Remember, this is not a real disaster but a mock drill. But in view of the upcoming monsoon season, there are preparations to conduct this mock exercise very seriously in Una district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mahendra Pal Gurjar said that through the mega mock drill, a thorough assessment and analysis of disaster management preparedness and capabilities will be done in the district. He said that on Friday, June 14, on receiving hypothetical information of flood-landslide-gas leakage from the state headquarters, mock drills will be conducted in each subdivision of the district by assuming symbolic damage at designated places and institutions. This mock drill will start at 9 am.
He informed that on this day mock drill will be organised by considering Tatehra village (near Swan river) of sub-division Gagret, Naloot village (Lathiani-Badsar road) of sub-division Bangana, Government Primary and Middle School Janani, Polian Beet under Haroli sub-division, Pindi Das Ashram and Eye Hospital Amb of Amb sub-division and Pekhubela of Indian Oil Corporation Limited Terminal of Una as the incident site. Apart from central agencies like Army, paramilitary forces, National Disaster Response Force, officers and employees of all departments related to disaster management of district and sub-divisions will take part in it.
