Nawanshahr – While the administrative officers and employees and the people of the state played a good role in conducting the 18th Lok Sabha elections in a peaceful manner in Punjab, the journalists also did not lag behind. Like every election, this time also the District Public Relations Officer took two sets of photographs from all the journalists for the voting and counting cards. A day before the voting, the Public Relations Department gave all the journalists the cards issued by the Election Commission for the day of election and it was said that the cards for the day of counting will be given on June 3. On the day of counting, the photos taken by the Public Relations Officer for making the cards were not sent to the Election Commission. Due to this, these cards were not issued to journalists of any assembly constituency Banga. This is the first time that journalists of Banga Assembly were kept away from the counting centers. What could be the reason that the present government, which works as the fourth pillar of democracy, behaved like this. In this regard, the journalists of Banga subdivision expressed anger towards such behavior of the government. When we talked to DPRO Nawanshahr in this regard, he said that the Election Commission had asked for the photo of every card of the district. Out of the three assembly constituencies of the district, only one assembly constituency was represented. In this regard, Banga Sub Division Patrakar Union Chairman Harmesh Virdi, Pradhan Sanjeev Bhanot, General Secretary Parveer Abbi said that they will soon call a meeting of journalists in this regard and discuss this incident with the government journalists.
