Patiala, June 1 - During the elections held in Patiala Lok Sabha constituency, 81-year-old visually impaired Kulbhushan Lal cast his vote despite the intense heat and contributed to the illumination of a strong democracy. 115-When Kulbhushan Lal, a resident of Chhota Arai Majra arrived at booth number 64 of Patiala City, all eyes were on him.
Patiala, June 1 - During the elections held in Patiala Lok Sabha constituency, 81-year-old visually impaired Kulbhushan Lal cast his vote despite the intense heat and contributed to the illumination of a strong democracy. 115-When Kulbhushan Lal, a resident of Chhota Arai Majra arrived at booth number 64 of Patiala City, all eyes were on him. Mr. Lal's firm belief in democracy influenced other voters as well. It may be mentioned that the district administration headed by District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Patiala Shaukat Ahmed Pare had arranged special facilities for the elderly at the booths. Certificates of appreciation were also awarded to the first five seniors who voted first at each booth. Apart from this, Paranjal daughter Rajkumar resident of Purana Bus Adda, who voted for the first time at booth number 43 of Patiala, expressed her happiness and urged the rest of the youth to use the voting officer as much as possible. Paranjal was also presented with a certificate of appreciation by the presiding officer. Certificates of appreciation were handed over to five young people who voted for the first time at each booth towards the administration. Apart from this, arrangements were made to hand over certificates to the first five transgenders who voted at the booth itself.
