Addressing the meeting, Pawan Kumar Khaitan asked the concerned officials to ensure strict compliance with the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India from time to time to complete the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in a transparent and fair manner. He said that the Election Commission should exercise full vigilance regarding the expenses fixed for the Lok Sabha elections and keep a close eye on the election expenses incurred by the candidates and complete videography of the election rallies and other public events conducted by the candidates should be done. So that a complete record of the expenses incurred can be kept. The Expenditure Observer also said that complaints received during the elections should be resolved in a timely manner so that the Lok Sabha elections can be conducted in a transparent manner.
They also asked the officials to ensure that the daily reports are sent on time as per the instructions of the Election Commission so that further action can be taken on those reports. He also said that if a citizen makes any kind of complaint regarding the elections, then appropriate evidence should also be obtained. Meanwhile, they also got the details of the complaints received so far and the recovery made. They told the officials that the monitoring committees and flying squads constituted by the district administration to keep an eye on the election expenditure should be kept equipped with complete equipment at all times so that no problem of any kind may arise in case of need.
He also said that the contesting candidates should be made aware about videography of election meetings, rallies and street meetings etc. He told the officials that the occasion of Lok Sabha elections is like a festival and we all should complete it with mutual cooperation.
