Una, May 6:- The nomination process for assembly by-elections including Lok Sabha elections in Himachal will start on Tuesday, May 7. Nomination papers can be filed till May 14. District Election Officer Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that the nomination process for Lok Sabha will be with the Election Officer DC Hamirpur. Whereas for the by-elections of Gagret and Kutlahar in the district, SDM election officers of the respective sub-divisions have been made. Nominations for the assembly by-election will be taken in his office.

He informed that there will be no nominations on May 11 and 12, a holiday. Nominations will be taken on May 7, 8, 9, 10 and 13 and 14 from 11 am to 3 pm. Nominations will be shortlisted on May 15. Nominations can be withdrawn till 3 pm on May 17, election symbols will be issued to the candidates after 3 pm on the same day. Voting will be held on June 1st from 7 am to 6 pm and counting of votes will be done on June 4th.
The District Election Officer said that as per the procedure, the Election Officer will issue the election information in Form-1 before 11 am on May 7. They have also been instructed to update Form-3A related to nomination daily and upload it on the election portal before 3.15 pm. After the withdrawal of nominations, the Returning Officer will carefully examine Form-7A containing the list of contesting candidates and ensure that its copies are delivered to the Chief Electoral Officer's office by 3.30 pm on May 17 through e-medium.
