The MLA said that some amount is released by the Punjab government every year under bond-free funds for conducting common works of villages and welfare of poor people, which is generally used for conducting common works of villages. An amount of 63 lakh rupees was released for the town and after this amount was released, they told the administration that various other types of funds are received from the government for the joint work of the villages, so this amount should be used for the poor people. He said that by using this amount, a decision was taken to fix the houses of 42 poor families in different villages of Mohali Assembly Constituency by spending 1.5 lakh (one and a half lakh) rupees per family and this is happening for the first time in the state. The money is being used to build houses for poor people.

He said that the previous governments have made only vague claims for the welfare of the poor, while the Aam Aadmi Party government is working at the ground level and people are being given the benefits of government schemes sitting at home without any bias.
