Issues discussed in the meeting of the Consumer Protection Federation

SAS Nagar, December 4 - A meeting of the executive of Consumers Protection Federation SAS Nagar was held under the chairmanship of the organization's president PS Virdi at Dharana Bhawan Phase 5 SAS Nagar in which various issues were discussed.

Giving information about this, General Secretary of the organization Ashok Pawar said that during the meeting, a decision was taken to celebrate National Consumer Rights Day on December 22. Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shri Kultar Singh Sandhwa will be the chief guest in this program.

In the meeting, it was demanded that the long-pending demand of starting the city bus service in the city should be fulfilled. The speakers said that the area of the city has increased to 127 sectors, at present the residents of the city have to face a lot of trouble due to lack of proper government means of transportation.

It was said in the meeting that a large number of shopkeepers in the city do not display the price list of essential goods and the shopkeepers are charging the rate as per their wish. Immediate action should be taken by the concerned department to display the rate list to the shopkeepers in the meeting. The meeting also demanded the re-opening of the closed government food shops in the city.

During the meeting, the members said that there is no availability of butter and ghee at Verka's booths for a long time. It was demanded in the meeting that the availability of these goods should be ensured as per requirement. In the meeting, expressing concern over the disruption of water supply in various parts of the city for some reason or the other, a demand was made to arrange uninterrupted water supply in the city. Along with this, Gamada demanded to allot the sites given to the municipal corporation to the squatters so that the illegal occupation of the footpaths of the markets ends. Jai Singh Shenhabi, Lachman Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Praveen Kapoor, SS Grewal, Jagtar Singh, Balwinder Singh Multani, Raj Mall, NS Chhabra were also present in the meeting.
