P.S.P.C.L. Honored Para Asian Games silver medalist Raj Kumar

Patiala, November 7: Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) felicitated its Junior Sports Officer Raj Kumar for his outstanding performance in the 4th Para Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China recently.

Patiala, November 7: Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) felicitated its Junior Sports Officer Raj Kumar for his outstanding performance in the 4th Para Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China recently. Raj Kumar teamed up with his partner Chirag Bretha, an ITO from Uttarakhand, winning the hearts of sports lovers across the country to win the silver medal in the men's doubles badminton event.
PSPCL Director Admin Jasbir Singh Sur Singh congratulated Raj Kumar for his outstanding performance. He emphasized that PSPCL is committed to promoting sports among its staff and Raj Kumar's achievement is a source of inspiration for all employees. The Corporation is proud of its dedicated sports officers and athletes, who bring glory to the organization and the state of Punjab. He disclosed that in recognition of Raj Kumar's outstanding achievement, PSPCL had given him the benefit of financial assistance. He will be promoted as Sports Officer as per Sports Policy of PSPCL. He also shed light on the efforts being made to increase the overall well-being of the employees. He said that a proposal to set up a state-of-the-art gymnasium at Patiala is under consideration with PSPCL management, which aims to provide world-class training facilities for the athletes and staff of the institute.
Director Admin revealed that apart from the gym, PSPCL is also considering the development of two sports grounds, one in Patiala and the other in Amritsar. P.S.P.C.L. Tej Pal Bansal, Deputy Chief Engineer/Technical Cum Incharge of Sports Cell, said that PSPCL. Efforts will be made to elevate Badminton as a priority sport within and an Inter-Board Badminton Tournament will be organized soon.
