SAS Nagar, October 12 - Office bearers of Mohali Senior Citizens Association expressed their happiness over the allotment of about three acres of land for Old Age Home in Mohali due to the efforts of Mohali Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi. Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi was felicitated and laddus were also distributed at the library located in Rose Garden of 3 B1.
On this occasion, the former president of the organization S Chaudhary said that Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi has been fighting for the issues of public interest of Mohali and where he fights for the issues of Mohali in the courts, he stands with the people of Mohali in every way. . He said that Deputy Mayor Sz. Bedi After fighting for 10 years,  got the land for old age home in Mohali which is a huge achievement in favor of senior citizens in today's time.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi said that in the present social fabric, the elderly lead a lonely life and even go into depression. He said that many young people ignore their elderly parents and do not want to keep them with them. He said that in such circumstances old age home is a place where these seniors can also overcome their loneliness and live their last life in a better way.
He said that he had filed a case in the court 10 years ago for this purpose. He said that they had found this case by keeping Punjab as the center point along with Mohali, but the honorable court also added Haryana to it and now Haryana has also announced that 22 old age homes will be built in Haryana by 2024.
