
Prices of essential food items fixed
Una, July 8:- In view of the availability of quality essential commodities at reasonable prices to the general public and consumers in the market, District Magistrate Jatin Lal has issued a notification under the Hoarding and Profiteering Prevention Order 1977 and fixed the maximum selling price of essential commodities so that no seller or shopkeeper in the district can charge more than the prescribed price.
Una, July 8:- In view of the availability of quality essential commodities at reasonable prices to the general public and consumers in the market, District Magistrate Jatin Lal has issued a notification under the Hoarding and Profiteering Prevention Order 1977 and fixed the maximum selling price of essential commodities so that no seller or shopkeeper in the district can charge more than the prescribed price.
According to the notification, in Una district, goat and sheep meat would be sold at Rs 500 per kg, pork at Rs 250 per kg, broiler chicken at Rs 220 per kg, live chicken at Rs 150 per kg, broiler dressed at Rs 210 per kg while fish would be sold at the maximum price fixed by the fisheries department.
The District Magistrate said that the food cooked at the dhabas in the district is full diet rice, chapati with dal, vegetable and curry for Rs. 80, half diet one plate of rice with dal and vegetable for Rs. 50, chapati tawa for Rs. 7 and tandoori for Rs. 8, special vegetable for Rs. 70 per plate, stuffed parantha with pickle for Rs. 30, special dal for Rs. 70, full plate of rice for Rs. 50, raita for Rs. 50 per plate, meat 5 pieces 200 grams per plate with curry for Rs. 130, chicken price has been fixed at Rs. 110 per plate with curry. Apart from this, two bhaturas with gram or vegetable can be sold for Rs. 55, gram samosa for Rs. 30 and two samosa gram for Rs. 50 per plate. Similarly, milk products can be sold for Rs. 60 per liter, paneer for Rs. 320 and curd for Rs. 70 per kilogram. He said that cold drinks of all brands will be available for sale as per the prescribed maximum retail price.
Jatin Lal said that every seller or shopkeeper will issue a cash memo to the consumer, whose duplicate copy will be kept with him for inspection. Apart from this, it will be mandatory to display the rate list of items signed by the owner or partner or manager of the selling establishment along with date at the entrance of the establishment. He said that the fixed rates will remain applicable for the next one month. He said that the fixed rates will not be applicable to hotels and restaurants registered with the Tourism Department
