
All the 303829 metric tons of wheat reached in the markets so far have been purchased
Hoshiarpur - The work of purchasing wheat in the district is going on simultaneously and till last evening, all the 303829 metric tons of wheat reached in the markets have been purchased. Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that direct payment of Rs 664.20 crore has been made in the farmers' accounts of the purchased crop.

Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that direct payment of Rs 664.20 crore has been made in the farmers' accounts of the purchased crop.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the officials have been instructed to speed up the lifting work and so far 219221 metric tons of wheat have been lifted in the mandis, which is 76 percent as per 72 hours. He said that currently Pangrain is the leader in terms of procurement and 82815 metric tons of wheat has been procured so far. Similarly, 69718 metric tons of wheat have been purchased by Markfed, 73897 by Pansap, 42960 by Punjab State Warehouse Corporation, 25282 by FCI and 9157 metric tons by traders. The Deputy Commissioner said that one grain of wheat will be bought in the markets. He said that keeping in mind the convenience of the farmers, all the arrangements have been made in the mandis.
He appealed to the farmers and said that the crops should not be brought to the market after being completely dried and harvesting should not be done with combines at night. He appealed to the farmers to save the environment from pollution by not burning wheat waste and grain.
