Let us tell you, under the Central Bamboo Mission, this Bamboo Village project costing about Rs 5 crore in Ghandawal of Una includes setting up a processing unit, a unit for making tooth brushes, furniture and other decorative items from bamboo. This project is dedicated to promoting an eco-friendly lifestyle, providing natural products to the people and giving employment opportunities to women at the local level.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner said that most of the work of the Bamboo Village project has been completed. Machinery worth about Rs 1 crore has been installed there to make toothbrushes. Women have also been trained to make bamboo products. This project will be made operational soon.
