Nawanshahr - As per the instructions received from Director, Social Security and Women & Child Development Department, Punjab and Mr. Manjinder Singh, District Program Officer, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Mr. Puran Pankaj Sharma along with a team visited villages Mehatpur, Uldani and Balachaur to check the food supplied by Markfed at Anganwadi Centre running in Block Balachaur. CDPO Balachaur said that the purpose of this visit was to assess the quality of food received in the supply as well as to get feedback on the food received from the beneficiaries. The diet prepared at the Anganwadi Centre was tested. He expressed satisfaction with the quality of the food received and the discussion held with the beneficiaries. On this occasion, CDPO Balachaur said that under the departmental scheme, services have been provided at Anganwadi Centre to pregnant women, lactating mothers and children from 6 months to 6 years for their better health and nutrition. In which supplementary nutrition is a major service under which good quality food is distributed to the said beneficiaries to improve their health and nutrition. He has also appealed to the general public that the eligible beneficiaries should get themselves enrolled at the nearest Anganwadi Centre and avail maximum benefits of the departmental scheme. On this occasion, Mrs. Harsh Bala, Supervisor, Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur, Anganwadi Worker, Mrs. Beena, Anganwadi Worker and Mrs. Jaswinder Kaur, Anganwadi Worker and Mrs. Shushma, Anganwadi Worker were present.
