SAS Nagar, November 7 - Senior Congress leader Harkesh Chand Sharma Machli Kala has alleged that the Punjab government has appointed former cabinet minister S. Development works are not being started through the grants issued by Balbir Singh Sidhu. Giving information about the construction work of the road from village Bharatpur to Saidpur, he said that former Cabinet Minister S. Balbir Singh Sidhu had provided a grant of Rs 57.69 lakh on 1/11/21 for the construction of the said road during the previous Congress government. Soil was also poured on this road by the Panchayats of both the villages and after depositing an amount of 57.69 lakhs with the Department of Public Works, Punjab, this work was completed by the department on 9/12/21. S.S. Shiva Construction Company was also allotted.

He said that one or two truckloads of bricks and stones were also thrown for the construction of the road, but more than two years have passed since this operation took place, but after that no further work has been started on this project. The residents of these villages are having to bear the brunt of it all.

He said that this is not a single example but there is a similar plight in almost every village of Mohali constituency and the government is not carrying out the works of grants issued during the previous government.
