Vigilance has arrested these accused on the complaint of Balwinder Singh resident of village Saidowal Kalan, district Gurdaspur. Disclosing this, the spokesman said that Balwinder Singh lodged a complaint against his brother Lakhwinder Singh and his cousin Gurnam Singh on 08-07-2023 at Police Station Dasuha under sections 324, 506 and 34 of IPC. In exchange for not adding section 326 to number 126, the accused inspector demanded a bribe of one lakh rupees and the deal was settled for 50 thousand rupees. The complainant alleged that the accused S.H.O. He had already taken Rs 20,000 from him and was demanding the rest as bribe. The spokesman said that after preliminary investigation of the complaint, the team of Vigilance Bureau Unit Hoshiarpur laid a trap and S.H.O. Balwinder Singh and his driver Yograj were caught accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant in the presence of prosecution witnesses. In this connection, FIR no 21 has been filed against the accused S.H.O. and his driver under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act on 29-08-2023 in Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Jalandhar Range.
