Micro observers will be deployed at critical polling stations

Una, 14 May- A training workshop was organized at Zilla Parishad Hall Una on Tuesday for the micro observers appointed in Una district for the Lok Sabha and two assembly by-elections. This workshop was presided over by District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal. During this, he informed the micro observers about their responsibilities and duties and asked them to ensure compliance with the standards set by the Election Commission and perform their duties with full dedication.

Una, 14 May- A training workshop was organized at Zilla Parishad Hall Una on Tuesday for the micro observers appointed in Una district for the Lok Sabha and two assembly by-elections. This workshop was presided over by District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal. During this, he informed the micro observers about their responsibilities and duties and asked them to ensure compliance with the standards set by the Election Commission and perform their duties with full dedication.
The District Election Officer said that micro observers will be deployed at critical polling stations in the district. Therefore, they should be more conscious about their responsibilities. Micro observers play an important role in conducting free, fair and transparent elections. Let us tell you, 516 polling stations have been set up for voting in the district, out of which 51 are critical polling stations.
Jatin Lal said that on the day of voting, micro observers will reach the polling station at the scheduled time before the start of voting and check all the arrangements related to voting as per the guidelines of the Election Commission so that there is no disruption of any kind during voting. He instructed that they should keep sending reports from time to time to the district headquarters about every activity taking place in the polling station. Also monitor whether every election personnel deployed at the polling station is following every aspect of the process. If you suspect any irregularity, immediately inform the General Election Supervisor.
He directed that micro observers should ensure the presence of agents of all parties in the mock poll to be held at 5.30 am on the voting day. If technical fault is found in any unit during the mock poll, only that unit will be replaced. But if there is a problem with the VU/CU during voting, the entire unit will be replaced. Let us tell you, voting will be held in the district on June 1 from 7 am to 6 pm for the Lok Sabha and two assembly by-elections.
Identity document will have to be brought with you to vote
The District Election Officer said that during voting, voters will have to present their voter identity card (Voter Card) at the polling station for identification. If for any reason voter card is not available, then for identification, passport, driving license, service identity card with photo issued by State/Central Government PSUs, Public Limited to its employees, pass book with photo issued by banks/post offices, PAN. Card, smart card issued by RGI under NPR, MNREGA job card, health insurance smart card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labor, pension document with photo, government identity card issued to MPs, MLAs/Legislative Council members and Aadhaar card. Photographs can be submitted as optional documents.
4,222 voters chose the option of voting from home
The District Election Officer said that Form 12D was distributed to 11,993 people eligible for the facility of voting from home in the district, out of which 4,222 voters have submitted their forms.
Let us tell you, this time the Election Commission has made arrangements for the elderly above 85 years of age and voters with more than 40 percent disability to cast their vote through postal ballot from home. Special teams of the administration will visit the homes of voters who have opted to vote from home and complete the voting process with complete secrecy. For this, 25 mobile teams have been formed in Una district.
