Una, September 9 - A special meeting of the Gram Sabha will be organized on September 15 for the successful organization of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign in Una district. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has issued orders in this regard.
Using the powers conferred under Section 5 of the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 and Rule 9(2) of the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (General) Rules, 1997, the Deputy Commissioner has directed to organize a special meeting of the Gram Sabha in all the Gram Panchayats of the district on September 15 for the successful organization of Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan. This meeting will be organized under the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan running from September 14 to October 1, 2024 in the district.
According to the order, in this special meeting, apart from declaring the village as ODF Plus model (Open Defecation Free Plus Model), items related to passing the resolution for verified villages will be discussed. Apart from this, the meeting will discuss the identification of beneficiaries of individual household toilets and taking necessary steps for retrofitting existing toilets and identification of suitable land for setting up public waste management units and garbage separation sheds in panchayats.
