Department of Posts is celebrating National Postal Week

SAS Nagar, October 10 - National Postal Week is being celebrated by the Department of Posts from October 9 to 13. Giving information about this, Chief Post Master General, Punjab and UT Chandigarh Shri V. K. Gupta said that various activities are being organized by the Punjab Postal Circle during this National Postal Week which started on October 9 on the occasion of World Postal Day.
He said that regarding this, Financial Empowerment Day has been celebrated today (10th October) under which Dak Chaupal (Postal Community Development Program) is being organized by each post office in Punjab circle. Meanwhile, different postal services will be provided to the people in the same camp.
He said that Philately Days will be celebrated on October 11 and seminars and quiz activities will be organized in schools on the topic of Digital India for New India. Mail and Parcel Day will be observed on October 12 during which customer meetings will be held for wholesale and retail customers. He said that on this occasion the customers will be informed about the new initiatives taken under the various parcel and mail services of the department.
Mr. Gupta said that October 13 will be observed as 'Ant Yodya Diwas' during which awareness camps will be organized in rural/remote areas and urban colonies for Aadhaar enrollment and updating. During this, people will also be made aware about various social security schemes.
Mr. Gupta said that the Punjab Postal Circle has seen an increase of 67 percent in international mail revenue which is probably the highest in the country. Many post houses in Punjab and Chandigarh have provided attractive packaging facilities for national and international goods as per public demand.
