He said that when tippers filled with overloaded ash move on the road and this ash falls on the road and then when it dries and turns into dust, it causes heavy damage to the eyes and air of the people. At the same time, animals are falling prey to diseases due to ash falling on the fodder of animals in the surrounding fields. He said that industries should be set up, but when the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Forest and Climate Change do so by ignoring all the rules, they are saving lakhs of rupees at the cost of people's health and natural resources. The Central Environment has laid down strict rules for industrial waste management. None of these are being protected by these owners as well as those who protect the rules. Dhiman said that not only here but in many villages of Hoshiarpur, air, water, land and agriculture are being destroyed by dumping ash on a large scale. And all this is happening due to the negligence of the Punjab government. Now the situation is that villages are being filled with ash.

Dhiman said that he has urged the National Green Tribunal, the Honorable Secretary of the Union Environment Ministry and the World Health Organization and other international agencies working on the environment to take strict action. And said that the Punjab government should stop this tampering with the health of the people at all costs, while the Environment Protection Punjab Mission run by the Punjab government is being ignored. How unfortunate it is that the lower level officers neither care about their seniors but are also not dutiful towards their constitutional duties. When the whole world is expressing concern about environmental protection, the environment ministry and its officers in Punjab are fast asleep.
