Chandigarh: August 22 - Gangster Ramanjit Singh Romi, the mastermind behind the 2016 Nabha jail break incident, is being brought to India from Hong Kong today. Romi will land with police at Delhi airport at 4 pm.
It may be mentioned that gangster Romi was arrested in Hong Kong. Now after the extradition, the Punjab Police is bringing them to India from Hong Kong. India had already issued a 'Red Corner' notice for Romi. Let us tell you that many cases of murder, kidnapping and extortion have been registered against gangster Romi in various districts of Punjab. Gangster Romi is accused of providing money to those who escaped from Nabha jail. He is close to gangster Gurpreet Singh Sekhon. On November 27, 2016, six prisoners escaped from Nabha Jail in Patiala. They included two terrorists and four notorious gangsters. Harminder Singh Mintu, the head of Garmkhiali Liberation Force, who escaped in the jailbreak, was arrested by the police after a few hours, but another terrorist, Kashmir Singh, escaped. While the main accused involved in this case, gangster Vicky Gonder, has been killed by the police in an encounter.
