Registration of children's homes for orphans and destitute children is mandatory - DC

Hoshiarpur - Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that the children's homes being run for orphans and helpless children or disabled children between 0 to 18 years of age in Hoshiarpur district, which are not registered under section 41 (1) of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015, Action will be taken according to section 42 of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 by the head of the children's home and the department.

  It can carry imprisonment for one year or a fine of Rs 1 lakh or both. He said that according to the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 enacted by the Government of India, any such children's home, which is being run by any government or non-government organization and in which orphans and helpless children or disabled children between 0 to 18 years of age They are required to be registered under Section 41 (1) of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 whether they are provided accommodation and food, care and receive grants from the government.
   A request letter under Form 27 (Rule 21 (2) and 22 (2)) of the Juvenile Justice (Protection and Care of Children) Model Rules, 2016 is to be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner of District Hoshiarpur for registration by a government or non-government organization.
After inspecting the said children's home by the District Level Inspection Committee, it is to be sent to the State Government for registration through the recommendation of the Deputy Commissioner.
During the said period, provisional registration is done by the state government for 6 months and after complete verification of documents, permanent registration is done for 3 years. The Deputy Commissioner said that if any non-governmental organization (unregistered) is running So it should be ensured that he is immediately reported to the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur and the office of the District Child Protection Unit, Hoshiarpur (01882-291839, 98765-91722).
