
World Breastfeeding Week 2024 celebrated at NINE
The National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE), in collaboration with the Indian Association of Neonatal Nurses (IANN), is celebrating World Breastfeeding Week 2024 with a series of educational and interactive activities. These events aim to raise awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding, provide valuable information and support to new mothers, and encourage a supportive environment for breastfeeding within the community.
The National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE), in collaboration with the Indian Association of Neonatal Nurses (IANN), is celebrating World Breastfeeding Week 2024 with a series of educational and interactive activities. These events aim to raise awareness about the benefits of breastfeeding, provide valuable information and support to new mothers, and encourage a supportive environment for breastfeeding within the community. The week-long program includes role plays and health education sessions conducted by nursing students, and teachers. The activities were coordinated by Mrs. Rupinder, In-charge of the subject child health nursing at NINE and Dr. Geetanjli, North Zone Coordinator of IANN, under guidance of Dr Sukhpal Kaur Principal NINE. All the teachers of department, including Mrs. Sujata, Mrs. Anupama, and Mrs. Rajbeer Kaur, supervised the activities, ensuring the sessions conducted graduate and postgraduate students were both informative and engaging.
On, 1 and 2nd August 24, a role play on breastfeeding was conducted for mothers and caregivers in Advance Paediatric Centre (APC) and in neonatal nursery for mothers and caregivers of neonates and infants. On 3rd to 7th August, 24 health education on breastfeeding was conducted in Neonatal surgical area, APC and in in neonatal nursery.
