Nawanshahr - The parties contesting the elections in Punjab are campaigning to get victories, but Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat are missing from the agenda of all the political parties. These views were expressed by Pawan Harchandpuri, president of the Central Punjabi Writers' Association (Sekhon). Harchandpuri said that the population balance of Punjab is changing in favor of non-Punjabis instead of Punjabis.
The young children and parents of Punjab are migrating rapidly to foreign countries, the gap left by them is being filled by non-Punjabi immigrants, due to which, in order to save the present existence of Punjab, the immigrants should not be made citizens of Punjab. There is a strong need for special legislation to impose For Punjab, Chandigarh, separate High Court and Punjabi-speaking outlying areas are not on the agenda of any party, due to which the culture of Punjab will become a multilingual culture instead of remaining in its current form. A large number of people in Punjab will become non-Punjabi, due to which the customs, traditions and religious traditions of Punjab will change completely.
He also said that Punjabi mother tongue is not on the agenda of any political party. Due to the current educational system, the prevalence of Hindi and English is also increasing in the homes of Punjabis. Hindi and English are being emphasized in public schools and nursery schools. By amending the Punjab Language Act, it has not been made necessary to implement Punjabi in the basic form in the nursery classes Due to which all children studying in nursery classes read and speak only Hindi and English for three years And they start studying Punjabi language in the first class after three years Due to which children's accent does not remain Punjabi. Speaking Punjabi is banned in the schools of Punjab Punishment is given and Punjabi is being popularized as a Gawar language. The central assembly demands stricter laws.
Harchandpuri also said that the Punjab government's campaign launched on February 21 Mother Language Day has failed. The Central Assembly regularly takes out drum processions on that day And asks people to put up boards in Punjabi at their shops And also demands the Punjab government to make a law about it So that all this can be implemented, but the government is silent. The campaign of the Chief Minister to build libraries is commendable, but the Punjab government needs to make a library law in this regard. Punjab is the only state in the country, which has not made a library law since 1967. A memorandum was sent by the Central Assembly to the Chief Minister to discuss Punjabi language issues* and a meeting was sought, but instead of a meeting through the Director Language Department, I have received a long-winded letter in my name. Due to this negative attitude of the government, many expectations of the Punjab government have been shattered.
Harchandpuri said in a serious tone that it is unfortunate that the government does not have time to talk to the central government and the writers. He appealed to all the political parties to make their position clear to the Punjabi people on the issue of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat and appealed to the people of Punjab to ask questions about Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat from the political leaders so that Punjab, Punjabi And the issue of Punjabiyat should be raised.
