Una, October 20 - A three-day repeat training camp was organized at Home Defense Training Center Mubarikpur under Aapda Mitra Scheme by District Disaster Management Authority and External Corps Home Defense Department, Una. 71 Aapda Mitras from Una district participated in this training camp.
District Deputy Commissioner Una will also provide training certificate and emergency response kit to these Aapda Mitras after the training. Aapda Mitra, along with the Home Defense Department, will assist the administration in emergency situations. The main objective of this scheme is to strengthen disaster management at the ground level in the community. When a disaster strikes, volunteers from the affected community are usually the first to respond in rescue and relief operations, before any government machinery and external assistance. Loss of life and property can be reduced with the help of volunteers in disaster response.
